Default numbers are an example: 80/1,000 in treatment and 50/1,000 in control. Enter unique people using the same observation window and conversion definition.

Rate difference (treatment − control)3.0 pp
Relative uplift60.0%

Read the conversion-rate difference in percentage points and the relative change versus control in percent.

These are observed differences, not significance or causal-effect verdicts.

FormulaRate = converters ÷ participants · Relative uplift = rate difference ÷ control rate
Check design and uncertainty in incrementality analysis

Distinguish a rate difference from an ad effect

8% versus 5%

The absolute difference is 3 percentage points and relative uplift is 60%. This is not an increase of 60 percentage points.

Use all assigned participants

Do not restrict treatment to people who actually saw an ad. Count each person's conversion status once.

Positive, negative or zero

The sign describes an observed difference. A positive value does not prove an effect, and zero does not establish no effect.

Questions before using this number

Are uplift and incrementality the same?

Uplift expresses a difference versus control. Whether that difference represents an incremental effect depends on the study design and uncertainty.

What if control has no conversions?

The absolute rate difference can still be calculated. Relative uplift would require division by zero, so it is marked unavailable.
